6 weeks old and 15 weeks to go!

February 28, 2010

OMG!!  So I just sat down and counted the weeks until the wedding and had a little mini heart-attack!  At this rate I will be a very pale bride, getting married in my bathrobe to a hair-cut needing man in his pj’s!!  I guess I have a serious To-Do list to make and have to stick to it!

On another note, Bean is 6 weeks old (yesterday).  Take a little Trip to read a little more about our first 6 weeks.  Here’s a moment in time for you

Decisions

February 28, 2010

So right now I’m in between blogs… there are features wordpress has that blogger doesn’t and the other way around.  I’ve been doing my “everyday blogging” over here (go check it out and become a follower because that’s where all the funny stuff happens) and this is going to become more of the “wedding related” blog… at least for now.

Let it Snow…MAKE IT STOP!!!

February 10, 2010

yeah yeah the snow is so pretty … snow is pretty when I see it coating the branches in a city park ON TV! Here it’s cold and heavy and turns to slush and ice and is a vicous circle. It causes people to drive 5 mph in a 55 zone and gives everyone an even worse case of cabin fever.
Having a toddler does make the snowstorm we are having a little more enjoyable because he loves to build “frosties” (snowmen), he loves to have daddy give him “fun rides” (pull him around on the sled), and Loves to shovel and help daddy snowblow. His favorite thing to do is plow with papa; he knows how to push the buttons and make the plow go up and down too!
As for me, I’m going to continue to hide in my living room and dread tomorrow morning. Catch a few shows (tonight is fend for yourself left over night because the fridge is full of yummy left overs) and maybe get to bed early (before 11:30 would be a welcome change). I’ll leave you with these:

Life as 4

February 9, 2010

I can’t believe that Gavyn is already 23 days old!  We are all doing well and have adjusted to being a family of 4 (+ pets) but creating a new routine is still proving difficult but we will find our groove in time.  Braydon has been waking up 2-3 times a night for some reason (the boy has slept thru the night since he was a couple months old) and I’m assuming it has to do with the fact that the baby is sleeping in mommy and daddy’s room!  We’ve had a couple of “middle of the night sleepovers” and we’ve tried just about everything… now we’re on our last option *just giving it time*.

Gavyn now weighs 8lb 7oz and is 21″ long, his beautiful black hair is already thinning on the top of his head and his little cheeks are filling out…. becomming more and more handsome everyday.  He really is our little monkey, already trying to roll over (which he has a couple times) and hanging onto whatever he can.

Matt’s mom has been here for 2 weeks and goes home on Friday.  It has been wonderful having her here; not only for the help but for the interaction between Grandma Mary and the boys (including Matt).  We’re trying to convince her to stay but I can’t blame her for wanting to return to Vegas (especially as I look out the window at the beginning of yet another winter storm).  Braydon really took to Grandma Mary right away (awesome! considering it’s the first time he’s met her!)  Matt has enjoyed seeing his mom and spending this special time with her and she’s very proud of what a wonderful family her son is a big big part of.

Daddy is enjoying his boys and learning to balance all the snuggles and cuddles of the new addition with the growls and tackles of our favorite toddler.  He’s been awesome helping out and doing a lot of the daytime stuff because mommy is the On-Demand milk machine all day and night and I feel like I don’t have much time for anything other than nursing and pumping.

I’m just hoping that once we are really 100% on our own we can still find all 4 of us in the whirlwind of bottles, diapers, onesies, nineys, matchbox cars, tractors, laundry… oh nevermind I could go on and on but it’s 7:45 (bedtime for the toddler yeah right!!) and time to once again nurse the baby bean and then I think I might just CRASH!
